I'm in Houston at the moment and a friend of a friend has a ranch, so I got to ride. I love horses! The first time I got on a horse, well he was a pony, I was 6 and he started off slow, but as we went in circles he started going faster and faster until he stopped all of a sudden and a went flying in the air! I was crying, lost a shoe, and had dirt all over my face and clothes. Thank goodness that I didn't land in horse shit! Lol. The owner started scolding the pony and smacked him..I was so pissed at the owner, I picked up my shoe that came off and threw it at him! Told my Mother that it was ok and I didn't want him to hit the pony. What a prick! I don't like physical abuse to animals. People like that should be hung and used for practice shooting. I know that sounds harsh, but I love animals more than I love people and that's just how I feel. Anyway, I got to wash "my" horse, brush him and get him ready to ride. There was 5 of us and we went around riding on the the huge property. I don't remember how many acres it was, but I know it was a lot! It was awesome and so beautiful! Thank goodness the horses were all very well trained and well behaved. Of course, my greatest fear is to be thrown off and hurting my spine or something else. Thank goodness everything went smooth and we had a great time and even had lunch way out on the land. We were so far out that I didn't even see the house anymore, that's how big this place was! I would have totally gotten lost if I was alone. They tried to get me to jump the horse like they do in competition, but um, no flippin' thank you! I mean, I'm all right at riding, but I'm not good enough to be jumping them! I wish I could ride horses everyday, it's a great workout. I know what you're thinking and that's a great workout too! Madyson :: Feeling rather naughty on my first day of the semester..2008-08-25Hmmm, maybe it is because today is my first day back to school and I need a little "fire" to get me prepared for it, or maybe it is just because I am feeling rather naughty.
